Couriers
Using Your Own Courier?
Already have an account with a different carrier (e.g., Toll, FedEx, CouriersPlease)? Book your pickup, then email us the label and booking reference so we can prepare the consignment.
- Book the collection to our warehouse address (as provided on your order/invoice).
- Email your PDF label(s) and booking ref to hvactradesupply.com.au@gmail.com.
- For DG items, include the correct class, UN number, and packing instruction on the label/MSDS.
Why Dangerous Goods (DG) Shipping Can Cost More
DG needs segregation, hazard labels, and certified handlers.
Most couriers add a DG fee on top of standard freight.
Air moves may be limited; road-only routes can add time/cost.
Common DG Examples in HVAC
- Aerosol coil cleaners and sprays (pressurised containers).
- Solvent-based cleaners/degreasers with flammable contents.
- Certain adhesives, primers, and paints used around HVAC installs.
Tip: Combine items in one shipment where possible, and choose road freight for DG to reduce air-handling costs. Always keep Safety Data Sheets (SDS) handy.
DG Notice Some Viper / coil cleaners are shipped as DG. Product pages will indicate if DG applies.
FAQ: Couriers, HVAC Tools & Dangerous Goods
Which courier should I choose for heavy HVAC tools?
For bulky or heavy tools, Direct Freight or Hunter Express are good road options. For time-critical items, TNT offers faster express services. Australia Post is best for standard parcels under their size/weight limits.
Do all coil cleaners count as Dangerous Goods?
Not all. Water-based cleaners may ship as non-DG, but many aerosols and solvent-based cleaners are DG due to propellants or flammability. Check the product page and SDS. If DG applies, expect a surcharge and ground-transport preferences.
Why is DG shipping sometimes more expensive?
DG consignments require compliant packaging, hazard labels, trained handlers, and in some cases restricted routes (e.g., road instead of air). Carriers add a DG handling fee to cover these additional compliance steps.
Can I use my own courier account for DG items?
Yes—book your carrier, then email us the label and booking reference. Make sure the label includes the correct DG class and UN number, and attach the SDS if your carrier requires it.
How do I know if an item is DG before checkout?
Look for “Dangerous Goods” or hazard class info on the product page. If unsure, contact us before ordering—tell us the SKU and destination and we’ll confirm the correct service and any surcharges.
