Product Overview
The DiversiTech® DT-981 Super Change™ is a specialized system additive designed to streamline the retrofitting process in HVAC/R applications. It provides a fast, chemical-based solution for converting systems from non-POE (polyolester) based oils and refrigerants—such as R22 and mineral/alkylbenzene oils—to newer HFC refrigerants, including POE-based R407C and R410A.
How It Works
Instead of requiring a complete mechanical flush of the existing line set, Super Change creates a robust chemical link between the legacy oil and the newly introduced synthetic oil. Additionally, it actively removes oxygen and moisture from the system to prevent lubricant breakdown, ultimately saving contractors significant time during system changeouts while protecting internal components.

Application & Dosage Guidelines
The dosage is scaled based on system tonnage and oil charge.
- Standard Systems (Up to 6 Tons / 20 kW): 1 can is sufficient for systems with up to a 64 oz. oil charge.
- Large Systems (6+ Tons): Use 2 cans per gallon of oil.
- Long Line Sets / Heavy Oil Logging: Use 1 can for up to 3 tons, or 2 cans per gallon of oil for 6+ tons to ensure adequate flow.
Tradie Pro Tip: Super Change is not a substitute for proper system cleaning in the event of a compressor burnout. Heavily worn mechanical components or gaskets may still require manual replacement.
